03:50 pm: Help! I need BODIES for San Diego Comic Con 2008
Actually, I need paying bodies...

I had a hotel room booked full of people a few months ago (5 to be exact). I've lost 3 and it's going to suck splitting the room cost for two. So I'm checking with all my friends going to SDCC if they want to share a room.

I'm staying at the DoubleTree (formerly Radisson)
Wednesday-Sun
It's within walking distance (less then a mile) and on the shuttle route
Cost for the room with taxes is $200 a night.
My other roomie is female and a really nice person.

So how about it?

01:42 pm: Snagged from agirlandherguns via Teija and Bohler
You are in a mall when the zombies attack. You have:
1. one weapon.
2. one song blasting on the speakers.
3. one famous person to fight alongside you.

* Weapon can be real or fictional; you may assume endless ammo if applicable. Person can be real or fictional.

1. M41a Pulse Rifle (Good for mowing down zombies and blowing holes in walls for exits)
2. Voodoo and Serano - Blood is Pumping (The rave song in Blade)
3. Wolverine (Least likely to turn zombie and won't die if I accidentally shoot him)

02:02 pm: WiiFit and Con Weekend...
I was suppose to be on the second preorder list for this Friday... Which conflicts with my whole con weekend. Luckily the EB Games I ordered from had extras so I was able to get one today. Hope I don't hurt myself...

10:29 pm: Reality check...
Well, I finished the costume minus the helmet. The colors, dimensions and details are pretty good. The only problem... my body type does not quite fit... I guess thats the nice way to put it. Oh well. It was fun seeing if I could do it.

01:09 pm: Lost in Space, found earth...more like fire (nation)
I'm still alive. Been fairly busy at work and life. My fandom has mostly been BSG (Battlestar Galactica) lately as I moderate for a couple of fan websites. I'd like to do more anime stuff, so I started a project I've been meaning to do for the last several months. The Avatar Fire Nation soldier.

Went shopping with Lydia last Saturday and found a lot of cheap material for the costume. That's a good thing as this will be my second attempt at sewing a costume from scratch (first being a toga). Spent two nights on it and it seems to be going well... I think the hardest part will be to make the shoes. It doesn't help that a lot of it is in vinyl. Oh well.

02:33 pm: Wii Crack!
My bestfriend's husband scored me one yesterday afternoon at BestBuy in Danville. I drove over after work with Jen and stayed till about 11 playing the one they got. Then went home, hooked up mine and played some more. I can't put it down. Almost slept with it... Okay, not. But I woke up and went back to playing. I have got to say that the controller interface it very cool. It really has an amazing range of motion.

So far I have Wii Sports and I bought WarioWare Smooth Moves. Has anyone tried the other games? I only want to get the ones that really make use of the motion controls otherwise my 360 is gonna collect dust. I was thinking of Wii Play and RayMan Raving Bunnies. Oh yeah and SSX Blur. Any input would be appeciated.

Gonna have to have another party here soon and invite everyone over to abuse my consoles. I think I smell BBQ... ;)

My Wii address is: 7831 2840 6471 4616 Add me on!

03:13 pm: WonderCon - ScifiHero.net - Base of operations.
Hey all! I'll be manning a fan table for one of my groups all weekend long at WonderCon. So be sure to come by and keep me company or at least say hi. Specially on Friday (I'll be there all alone :( ). I won't have support troops till Sat and Sun. If anyone is willing to help me mind the store Friday (for an hour or two), I'll treat them to lunch. ;)

I'm not sure how much space I'll have, but you're welcome to "temporarily" leave things with me. I won't rummage through them too much. ;)

See you all there!

11:14 am: I feel like MORK from ORK...
Thank you all for your birthday well wishes!!! Sorry I don't comment. Work and life tend to intrude on my on-line persona.

Another year goes by and I'm still alive. That's a good sign. LOL! I swear as I get older I THINK I'm (mentally) getting younger... Although I don't feel it. SHAZ-BOT!!!

For any interested. My birthday weekend consisted of getting wasted saturday on alcohol and pizza while playing gauntlet seven sorrows on my xbox with some good friends. Nothing like a whoop-ass session with a bunch of guys who want to play a game that has 4 people fighting to go in 4 different directions on one screen.

Sunday I hung out with my best friend since high school and her family. I mostly ended up playing Gears of War with her 14 year old son during the day. Night was dinner and cake and catching up on old times while helping her wrap xmas presents till 1 in the morning.

Took Monday off. Spent the day shopping with Jen (my GF for those who don't know). In between I having dim sum with my parents in the city. Then went to have dinner with my sisters and their spouses at an all you can eat place in San Mateo... I think it's called Hokaido... something or another.

Over all a good Birthday! Did I mention I also got TWO XBOX 360s? Yes,it was a GOOD birthday.... :P

11:32 am: So far I've been wanting to go to three conventions (AOD, AM and SiliCon) and I've missed all three... Strike out!!! :( On the bright side, I didn't spend any money... But I miss my friends.

At least I got to finish working on my proton packs this weekend. Just a few minor details left.

Last year I had mismatched proton wands. They should have looked like the one on the left. But I didn't have time to make one from scratch before the October conventions.

New and improved:

11:17 pm: I'm just a sick-o!
FYI. Sooo... I've been sick for like 3 weeks. Two weeks prior to SDCC I start to get a little sore throat. I think it won't be anything so I muddel through the week feeling like crap. But a few days prior to going to SD I can barely swallow. Alright I call in sick to work and in 48 hours, manage to muster enough white blood cells to go to SDCC and survive wearing my very sweaty costumes for two days in heat.

While at SDCC I notice I start getting this rash on my face. I get back on Monday and go to a doctor and they say I've been so sick my immune system has failed and now I have shingles. Oh that's just great! Possibility of facial scaring and if it gets to my eyes I might go blind... Well, I was never that great looking, but going blind? YIKES!!!

So this last week I've quarantined (it's contagious) myself to the apartment thinking I'll have to wear a mask like the phantom of the opera... (being way to over-dramatic)

With that said... Sorry I won't make wictop, but the meds make me sick and tired.

SIGH! (being way to over-dramatic)

Dave

11:21 pm: SIGH!!! Am I too geeky or not enough?!?! Then again maybe I'm just getting old...
I was having lunch with Lydia and Debbie today and as we were walking to lunch I listened to them discuss html tags in LJ. I was like... "Oh! that's how you do that..." and they looked at me like I should have known all along. :(

I've been a teacher, construction worker and entertainer. I work with computers for a living. I save systems (hundreds of dollars), networks (thousands of dollars) and data (priceless). I battle viruses and hackers on a daily basis. I make costumes and props from bit and pieces and I'm told they look pretty good. I know how to sew (by hand) install all kinds of electronics (even set the time on the vcr and microwave).

Yet I'm pretty useless when it comes to the mainstream stuff. I love MP3s and yet I don't own an ipod. I barely know how to navigate my LJ (mostly use it to read the rants of my friends), friendster (i think they're dead) and myspace (slowly building my friends list).

Naw... It's not that I'm not hip. I just choose not to be. I'm different.

BTW: Tack me into your Myspace and friendster so I look like I'm hip and with it. LOL!
